How does the visitor counter count visitors?
The counter uses a daily IP block. Each IP address is counted as one visitor per calendar day (UTC). Additional visits from the same IP on the same day do not increase the visitor count. See the methodology for details.
What is the difference between visitors and pageviews?
Visitors are based on IP addresses counted per calendar day. Pageviews are page loads recorded by the counter and can therefore be higher than the number of visitors.
Can I change the design of an existing counter?
Yes. You can keep the existing counter ID and counter value and change only the STYLE value in the embed code. How to change the counter style.
Which alternative counter displays are available?
Besides normal decimal numbers, the counter can display Roman numerals, hexadecimal, binary, Base36, UTC time, UTC date and language-based greetings. See all alternative counter displays.
Can the visitor counter display Roman numerals?
Yes. The Roman display uses numerator.php and STYLE=L0 to STYLE=L14. The real stored counter value continues normally; only the visible counter graphic is converted. Learn more about the Roman visitor counter.
Do I need Google Analytics as well?
